I see the FA have now fined him £375 and banned him for 2 months... should be available when Adrian leaves and Hart gets injured!

Re: Sutton sack Wayne Shaw
This guy will make more money advertising pies rather than not pulling the stunt and still working at Sutton.

What are the odds this bloke becomes a familiar face and we dont hear of Sutton until their next cup run in about 20 years time. Quite likely I should imagine.

Re: Sutton sack Wayne Shaw
It's not as though the decision to eat the pie was caused by luck, or brilliance, was it? If the bloke was paid to eat a pie without knowing people were betting then he's done nothing wrong.

If, on the other hand he did, he's left himself wide open to all sorts of things. Since that seems to be the case, he's been pretty stupid.

Knowing what the FA are like, they'll jump all over this to prove they can. After that, it's only going in one direction and it would not end well for Mr. Pie, as it hasn't.

I suppose, rules are rules, but losing your job over it seems a bit harsh.

The bookies (The Sun) and the FA haven't really done anything wrong here.

Sutton Utd have over reacted in making him resign. Shame on them.

Just seen that article sold. Would seem like some skullduggery on both sides there.

Re: Sutton sack Wayne Shaw
I presume these gambling companies are all licensed and should have some sort of code of conduct regarding bets which can be manipulated like this.
And to be honest if Fat Bloke thought he was just going to eat a pie and a bunch of people were going to collect he is an idiot.

Interesting take on it....

Personally... my thought are that any bookies that have on their screens `specials' that include 1st throw in... 1st corner... 1st pie eaten... will some player do a certain goal celebration if they score... they leave themselves open to all sorts of corruption and shit... more fool them

Re: Sutton sack Wayne Shaw
Surely the keeper was paid by Sun Bets to do it? That's how I've understood it anyway. Publicity stunt by the Sun. It was a max of £5 per bet anyway so no chance of lumping on.

Completely agree with some other comments. It would seem that it's totally fair for a national newspaper to poke fun at a semi professional footballer over his weight, but when he shoves it back in their faces and they end up losing out financially, he's not playing by the rules. He should sue them for publicly humiliating him.

Did anyone notice a french international former player of ours kicked the ball straight into touch from kick off well into the opposition half earlier in the season?

Just saying.

-No celebrating with fans after scoring
-No placing shirt above head after scoring
-No fat fuckers allowed to eat pies during games
-No inappropriate singing about Jews
-Non contact sport with no manly tackles allowed
-Play acting fully endorsed and encouraged

Powers that be just don't want the sport to be fun anymore.
